Important Notes

Home-Educated Students

Students enrolled at a New Zealand secondary school normally register through their school. Approved home-school and overseas-student routes are handled separately by EONZ.

Schools are not required to invigilate the at-home School Round. EONZ manages examination delivery, support, results and all later stages.

Home-educated students must contact EONZ before registering so that their eligibility can be verified and an appropriate registration process is arranged.

The School Round is free during standard registration. Late registration is subject to capacity and a late-registration fee.

Ensure all student information is accurate before submission. EONZ may contact schools to confirm or correct details.

New Zealand Passport Holders Studying Overseas

Students will receive examination instructions directly from EONZ closer to the School Round date.

No registration is complete until all required information and any applicable payment have been received.

New Zealand passport holders studying overseas should contact EONZ directly for the approved overseas-student registration route.

After Submission

Once your registration is submitted successfully, your school will receive:

A confirmation email with registration reference.

Examination instructions and key information closer to the date.

Important updates and reminders from EONZ.

Any correction requests if additional information is requred.
