A teacher or school competition coordinator acts as the main EONZ contact for your school.
The coordinator downloads the official EONZ Excel registration template from the website.
Collect the required information and complete one spreadsheet for all participating students.

Important Notes
Home-Educated Students
Students do not normally register individually. All registrations are managed by schools
Schools are not required to invigilate the at-home School Round. EONZ manages examination delivery, support, results and all later stages.
Home-educated students must contact EONZ before registering so that their eligibility can be verified and an appropriate registration process is arranged.
The School Round is free of charge.
Ensure all student information is accurate before submission. EONZ may contact schools to confirm or correct details.
Students will receive examination instructions directly from EONZ closer to the School Round date.
After Submission
Once your registration is submitted successfully, your school will receive:
A confirmation email with registration reference.
Examination instructions and key information closer to the date.
Important updates and reminders from EONZ.
Any correction requests if additional information is requred.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can schools update the spreadsheet after submission? Yes, you can update and upload again before the deadline. EONZ will use your latest version of the spreadsheet.
Can students register individually? Students do not normally register individually. All registrations are managed by schools
Does the school need to supervise the exam? After your submission, EONZ will manage the School Round, from sending Exam Instructions, invigilation, and the competition outcomes.
How are home-educated students registered? Home-educated students must contact EONZ before registering so that their eligibility can be verified and an appropriate registration process is arranged.
Student Data & Privacy
EONZ collects a minimal amount of student information solely for the purpose of administering the competition.
The information requested from participating schools may include:
• Student name
• Date of birth
• Student email address
This information is used only for:
• participant registration
• exam administration
• communication regarding the competition
• qualification for the National Final Round
EONZ does not collect unnecessary personal data, and all information provided by schools is handled responsibly and used exclusively for competition-related purposes.
EONZ does not share student personal data with third parties except where necessary for the administration of the competition.
When announcing results or publishing lists of qualifying students, personal data will be partially anonymised.
For example, names may be displayed in the format: J. Doe to protect student privacy.
Students will also be required to agree to the Economics Olympiad (EO) GDPR data processing agreement when accessing the official EO testing platform for the School Round.
